How Often Do You Need to Get Waxed?
Most clients get the best results waxing every three to five weeks, depending on the body area and their individual hair growth cycle. Staying on a consistent schedule is the key to smoother skin, less discomfort, and progressively finer regrowth over time.
In Depth
The ideal waxing frequency varies by body area because hair grows at different rates in different zones:
- Bikini and Brazilian: Every 4 to 5 weeks. Bikini area hair has a relatively long growth cycle, so you get good longevity between sessions.
- Legs: Every 4 to 6 weeks. Leg hair grows slower than many people assume, and consistent waxing makes regrowth increasingly sparse.
- Underarms: Every 3 to 4 weeks. Underarm hair grows faster than leg hair and tends to be thicker, so slightly more frequent sessions keep the area smooth.
- Facial hair (eyebrows, lip, chin): Every 2 to 4 weeks. Facial hair cycles are shorter and more noticeable, so more frequent maintenance is typical.
- Arms and back: Every 4 to 6 weeks. These areas often have finer hair that takes longer to become visible.
Why consistency matters: Hair grows in three phases — growth (anagen), transition (catagen), and resting (telogen). Waxing is most effective when it catches hair in the anagen phase. Sticking to a regular schedule trains more of your hair follicles into the same growth cycle, which means more hair is removed in each session and regrowth becomes sparser over time.
